Yangon – According to JETRO, Japanese businesses invest most in the services sector and the constructions sector in Myanmar.
Although some are interested in the banking and transportation sector, the numbers are low compared with other investments. While trading sector has drawn considerable Japanese investment, garment sector has secured the most investment.
According to Masaki Takahara from JETRO, Japanese businesses are interested in CMP, technology, and office rental businesses in Myanmar.
Although there are keen interests from Japanese investors, major Japanese businesses are hesitant due to issues such as adequate communications, transportation, and basic infrastructure and the lack of a deep seaport.
