Yangon – Red Link Company, which is providing internet service in Myanmar on the WiMax system, will apply for an internet service provider license in order to upgrade its services.
“We have started with the application process. As soon as we obtain the license, we plan to provide better services to our users,” said U Myo Myint Nyunt, General Manager at Red Link.
Currently, Red Link is operating under Yatanarpon Teleport. In accordance with the recently passed Telecommunications License Law, Red Link will apply for an ISP license from the Posts and Telecommunications Department (PTD).
“After getting the license, we plan to focus on Yangon and Mandalay as our first priorities. Later, we will expand our services to Nay Pyi Taw and other big cities,” said U Myo Myint Nyunt.
Currently, Red Link has provided over 15,000 WiMax Internet services in Yangon, Mandalay, and Bagan.
